Friday Favorites

Another week done and gone and can you believe it's March?! And Easter, when in the world did that Holiday start ending up in March?? Craziness.
This week I got a "new position", and more hours, and more stress. You know what though?(you probably do because I talk about it often) I love the kids I get to work with so all the stress is worth it! :) Also, personal accomplishment, I think I wrote like three posts this week! Getting back up there. Remember when I was in Europe and took pretty pictures and always had something new to say? Ya well, that was Europe...
With all that this week entailed there were still quite a few things I enjoyed. Here they are.
- an empty house, coffee, and my bible
- lots of time at my moms house
- spending an extra few minutes in the car to clear my head after work
- my coworkers and how real they are-- seriously, those girls have me weak sometimes from laughter. And they are SO great to vent to
- Dunkin Doughnuts from a student :)

I'm pretty grateful this week. Which typically means next week will be the exact opposite(but we can hope for the best). I know myself so well. ;)

Too Ready to Wait

What a week. Anyone else? Before I let you know what my Friday Favorites are I just gotta share with you a few of the insults I received this week. I am at a loss..

12 year old boy wants snack, I ask him to wash his hands. This is what I get: "No. Screw you!"

4 year old being sent back to her cot at nap: "Whatever! I'm moving anyway!" --guess what? Ya still can't talk to me like that!

Kindergartner in response to being told not to his his sister: "I hate you, you cubby!" WTF is a cubby?! What kind of insult is that anyway..

12 year old, just because: "Shut up, big mouth"

As you can see... I wasn't very loved this week. Possibly because I have been cracking down on the hitting and teasing so now they just take it out on me? I dunno. Oh well, it's almost the frickin weekend!

Now, because I just can't wait to get this weekend started; here are my Friday Favorites! :-)

1. I'm going on a missions trip to Mexico in March! Woo hoo for Weekend Missions . Now I just have to get my time off approved.

2. Saturday is LiveLove day where we get to do intentional acts of kindness all morning. Fun!!

3. Sunday includes baptisms and a church picnic!

4. It snowed in Arizona, in my neighborhood, on Wednesday. Say whaaatt?!

5. I finally, finally went down to Sprint so I can start getting my work discount taken off my phone bill. I loove saving money.

Friday Favorites

We are so glad it's Friday. Yes, sometimes I refer to me as we. Sometimes. Just another weird quirk. Anyway, the weekend is here and just in time.
I have been covering for our Pre-K teacher all week while she has been very sick. It was fun and I got to be silly with the kids. At four years old you can sing and dance and goof around and kids are going to think you're awesome! Not so much at 12 years old.
Which brings me to my next point.. I had a 12 year old join my school age class this week. That little smack talker and I are gonna go rounds if he doesn't learn some respect. Whooeee! I do not like attitudes.

Now, without further a due, here are my favorite things this week!

1. this morning was my favorite morning because of a conversation I had with one of the baristas at Starbucks. I was able to share, briefly, the two things I am passionate about. 1. Serving others and 2. Teaching and growing with kids. It was so nice for whatever her name (gotta remember that) to actually stop and listen.

2. I get to make and mail invitations for my nephews birthday tomorrow. I can't believe he is turning ONE!

3. A magazine and an at home pedicure. Oh yes, that is happening right now. :)

4. Our new teachers at school! I'm excited that we can all take a breather now that we are (almost) fully staffed.

5. Pay Day. I'm sorry, but when isn't pay day a favorite?

Friday Favorites

Hey! I think it's about time for one of these again! Enjoy my favorite things from this week and don't be shy, share yours.

- I loved being praised by both of my bosses and lots of parents at work this week. Makes sense since my love language is words of affirmation.

- Homemade meals. So rich, so good, so much cheaper! Ding-ding, favorite!

- If you know me, you know I love my morning news... This week on GMA Robin Roberts announced she'll be returning soon after being off air for MONTHS due to her bone marrow transplant. I love that lady and all the gMA crew, so call me crazy, but I can't wait for her return.

- This isn't one of my favorites, but I'm sure it is for my wallet. This week I only had Starbucks one time!! That's a major cut back. That's also how you know it wasn't pay day week and I haven't been working my little weekend babysitting gigs. =)

- And last, but not least. Friday. It has been a long week as the kids have been nothing short of challenging. I'm very ready for the weekend.

Friday favorites

Five if my favorite things from this week! I'll wrapping Christmas presents and buying a few more this weekend, decorating the tree, and lesson planning! I'm so ready to hang out in comfortable clothes and sleep in(if my internal alarm allows).

1. Homemade soups and stews; because I don't know about you, but I freeze these days!

2. The time I got to spend with my friends and their baby girl while I was in Texas.

3. Fun days at work, and fun times with my coworkers.

4. Coffee! I dumped coffee for a few months in case you didn't know, but know we are as hooked together as ever.

5. GMA! fact: I'm a huge morning news fan.

Friday Favorites

1. Pinterest. It is so going to make me a better teacher in the coming weeks.

2. Ms. Marcie at my school for being so nice and bringing me a plate of treats from their party.

3. 5 year olds, for not being too old and still wanting hugs and to sit on your lap and read stories.

4. Spaghetti night!

Friday Favorites and other things

We’ll start with this weeks favorite things and then some other news which technically is also favorites from this week, but some things I care to explain more than others. Ok?

1. I bought some Cherry Coke today. Mmm. 

2. I enjoy sending/buying postcards especially one of them I bought in Munster from a local artist. 

3. I’ve only talked to my grandma and mom twice this week. Which means, the week got much better than it was on Monday when I packed my bags and was headed home. 

4. I love getting mail. I think most people do. Emails, IM’s, and texts are great; they’re fast and efficient, but snail mail is fun. 

5. My church(in Arizona) is doing “Summer at the Movies” and last Sunday was Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. Which happens to be a great kids and adult movie. So, I really enjoyed listening to that this week. 

6. I cooked Mexican food again this week. You all were so kind to send me lots of seasonings and I’m using it all trust me. The family here really loves when I cook. 

7. I found chicken Maggi noodles. Which may be very close to Maruchan Top Ramen. I know what you’re thinking when I say Top Ramen, but when you can’t get something as simple as that, then you for sure want it. I’ve been craving it so until my package with some gets here I’m hoping this stuff I found is pretty similar. 

8. I have to laugh at myself. The once, coffee addicted, Lyndsy, can hardly ever finish a cup anymore. There’s one half full on my desk as we speak as I blog. I don’t know what’s happening to me! Ahh! I think it’s because it’s from Senseo machines and they use coffee “pod”. It’s not the same for me. 

9. My foot blister has healed and I can walk on two feet again. Yay. 

Note to self: get new shoes. Tennis shoes. 

10. We had Chinese food for lunch, a first since since I’ve been here. It was delish. 

Now in other news; I just finished getting together a baby shower gift for my best friend, Katrina, her little girl is due in September and it sucks so bad that I won’t be there, but at least I’ll have a new baby to dote on when I get home. While getting her some outfits and what not, I thought, “how cool, she’s gonna have clothes from Germany”. I mean I don’t know if they were made here, but it’s cool, to me at least, that they’re coming from here. =)

Also this morning I got a very neat birthday gift from my friend Ashley. She told me she sent me something, I knew it needed be hung up, and I knew it was something for my room. I was very surprised and a little tear jerked when I opened the package and inside was a Clothesline picture keeper.  She wrote me a very sweet note, and in true Ashley fashion everything was super adorable. See below. I loved the three pictures she included for me to hang on my new clothesline. 1.) a recent photo of the two of us from our Pinteresting night before I left. 2.) An older photo from one of the first times I served on the outreach team with ONE at Polar Fest and 3.) a picture from the day of my baptism which, in two weeks, was 2 years ago. Thank you Ashley for sending me a piece of my San Tan Valley life. =)

Already moved from this location. I din't like that it was up against the wall. Not very clothesline-ish.

Friday Favorites

1. Not Vacation.

2. The Yankees. Although last night I was completely devastated by their loss and end of the season, I still love 'em!

3. Hot tubs. You meet the coolest people when you go to a hot tub. #factsoflife

4. Tahiti Joe's. This restaurant we've been eating at in Vegas. You wouldn't think a place called Tahiti Joe's would have good spaghetti but, Oh. My. Gahhhssshh is it good!

5. HGTV which I have been glued to the last few nights.

6. My God daughter Symphony who is three months old already!

7. My brown Flojos. Almost better than Rainbows flip flops. Awesome flip flops.

8. Dolphin Tale. I would definitely see that one again. Such a good "Do Something" movie.

9. My phone, whom I could not live without.

10. The rain.
