Probably words can't describe what an awesome weekend I {and my good friends from ONEcc} had, but I'll try anyway. I have a heart to serve God's people and while my attitude doesn't always show it{I'm working on that}, it's one of my favorite things to do.
The last three days were spent in the slums of Puerto Penasco, Mexico with 70 people who were ready for life change to happen. In the neighborhoods and within ourselves.
When we arrived the first thing we did was get some Tacos! Tacos! So, so good. This was out first language barrier experience. In Mexico. Because I know all about not being able to communicate in anther country. I was just glad this was for three days not three months. :) and while we still had free time we went to see the ocean. God really made some beautiful things.
Friday evening we went out to the neighborhoods near the church we would be working at all weekend. Rio de Agua Viva. We went out with a woman, Carmen, who had the best spirit about her. The exact type of person you want to be around. For an hour or so we invited the children to come to the church Saturday morning for a program we had for them. We also asked them if they needed any prayer.
Children. We asked the children what they wanted prayer for. And Oh, did they answer. For thier parents, uncles, aunts, grandparents. They knew what the needs were and even so young they knew that God can provide. This is when I realized we just don't ask children enough what they would like prayer for.
After the invitations we went back to the Villa Granada, a renovated hotel that is now the mission lodging. We had dinner and time to share out stories in the dining hall. Authentic Carne Asada and homemade tortillas... Mmm.
And after a day of feeling so grateful and thankful for the experience, I fell asleep. :)

I didn't realize that this will probably be a 3 part post because there is just too much to talk about and pictures to share. These are just a Few from Friday afternoon.
